City Ordinances
The City of Excelsior Code of Ordinances ("City Code") contains the municipal laws adopted by the City Council. These laws govern land use, public safety, local governance, and other matters important to the community. To view the full City Code, click here.
How Ordinances Are Adopted
With the exception of emergency ordinances, all ordinances must:
- Undergo two readings at separate City Council meetings.
- Be published in the City's designated newspaper (Sun Sailor) - usually takes place on Thursday, one week after the second reading.
- Typically go in effect 30 days after publication.
